A Little Denim and a Little Red

I know it’s been a while since we posted, but as you know life happens. We promise to get better starting immediately.

This post is about what I wore for my casual Friday. I work for a big corporation and, unfortunately, can’t wear jeans to work. However, no one said anything about chambray pants….. So here I am in my semi-jeans, t-shirt, and a red jacket.

It sure feels good to bend the rules a bit…….

Black Dress and Oxfords

Today’s outfit is all around  black sporty dress with drop-waist and leather panel. The dress is very versatille and can be worn over a shirt with oxfords, like in my pictures, or by itself with a great pair of heels. The bag is the only bright element in this black/white concoction :).  Ginham print shirt adds a relaxed vibe to the dress and also one of the trendy patterns for the summer.

Colorful bangage on my knee is not part of the outfit but a result of our waterpark trip the weekend before. I think themed bandages are adorable and this one is from the Peanuts Movie.

Happy Wednesday!

Summer Ellegance

Very light and breathy summer look inspired by pictures of Rose Huntington Whitley at the airport.  White suit, nude top and shoes, and a black purse. So easy to wear around the city or to the office, nothing complex and very minimalistic.

I definitely recommend giving it a try.  What do you think if Polina and I do a few celebrity inspired looks? Let us know!

Girl in Beige

My ever lasting love of neutrals continues.  I love mixing the same color families of jackets and pants. I find it way more fun than just wearing good classic suit. These cropped trousers might not be the most contoured but the effortless flowing element these add to a more classic blazer is exactly what I wanted. Red bag adds a little pop of color to the overall very neutral outfit.

Afternoon Stroll

Afternoon stroll through a very pretty and chic neighborhood is one of my favorite things to do in the spring.  I’ll try my best to venture into brighter shades as it gets closer to summer but for now I’m sticking to my favorite, office friendly neutrals.

Snake print is one of those universally flattering and easy to pull of prints that transition well into the seasons.  It offers the perfect dose of texture for any outfit. It’s such an easy way to give your look a sophisticated, European appeal.  You can mix it with any colors but keep the simplicity in the rest of the look to make this fun print stand out more.

Hot Pink and Sneakers

A sunny spring day and a bright pink blazer that makes you stand out from the crowd – what can be better? Well, my new Vince sneakers are amazingly comfortable and adorable. I can’t stop wearing them since I got them  :). Definitely a must have this season!

The easiest way to transition your fall/winter pieces into spring and summer is by adding bright colors. My pink jacket is that exact element. However, you can use an interesting scarf, a fun necklace, bright shoes or a purse to create  interesting spring looks without an extra investment in your wardrobe.

Have fun with it and shop my look below 🙂

Blushing Grey

Today’s look is inspired by pantone color of the year, Rose Quartz, and one of my favorite bloggers Galant Girl.  I was very excited to find this new dress because of its color and versatility. It looks great when worn loose but I decided to add a bit more shape to it and added a belt. The dress works for winter, spring, fall, or even a cooler summer day. And it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t incorporate something grey in my outfit.

I love the blush pink color! It works great with any complexion and especially striking in combination with taupe grey and rose gold accessories.  This color is very popular this spring and it’s easy to see why. It’s that blushing, flowery shade that immediately lifts your mood.  The dress is extremely soft and comfortable, and I can’t wait to wear it again.

Happy spring day!

Layering and Shades of Green

Today’s look doesn’t resemble my usual style much. However, I really liked how shades of green and burgundy worked together. The whole look turned out a little boho chic and a bit eclectic gypsy. Flowy fabrics, natural earthy shades, and longer layers. ..

I think it’s really fun to try to step out of your comfort zone and experiment with different styles.  You might feel very comfortable as a new you or not but that’s the fun of experimenting. You might learn something about yourself and of course, it’s never boring.

Don’t be afraid to be a different you!

Gray in Spring

Spring is in the air…love is in the air – something like that…  With the weather getting nicer, we are trying to spend more time outside enjoying fresh air and the sun. But despite the bright spring trends, I’m not giving up on my grays! Another gray outfit here – gray top and, of course, a new gray men’s style blazer. Ladies, you really need to invest into men’s style blazer this season! Just like boyfriend’s jeans, this has an understated and chic vibe to it while remaining casually trendy.

Black pants, black shoes and mostly black accessories complete this look. However, I don’t feel like it’s a boring one at all! This outfit feels sharp due to its clean lines and a daring style.  Sometimes all a girl needs is a blue sky, fresh air, and a perfect gray outfit 🙂

Don’t feel gray today but don’t be afraid of wearing it!

Red Spring Coat

Spring is here and we are starting to see more and more sun. And, of course, with my love for neutrals and grays I wanted to brighten things up with a statement red coat. No matter how neutral your daily outfits are, a statement piece like that will surely bring a smile to your face. Red, or any bright shade, immediately gets you noticed in the crowd and adds a lot of personality to your look.

If you are looking for interesting pieces that would help you to stand out and not make a big hole in your budget – ZARA is the way to go!  It’s a very democratic brand that is always on trend. The quality is good, price is affordable, and they add new products on a weekly bases. I personally find ZARA coat and jacket collections exceptional.  One of my favorite lines is “Handmade” but I like “Zara Basics”, as well.  The only downside is that collections sell out quickly not giving you much time to ponder and hesitate.

The coat I’m wearing was purchased about 2 weeks ago and it has sold out almost immediately. However, they have very similar coats in different colors and textures. See below in “What I’m wearing section” for links. I paired the coat with navy blue pants, bag, and shoes to compliment the bright red shade.  White  blouse  was a great neutral element that added freshness to the look.  As always, my outfits are office friendly but I can easily see myself wearing it after office hours.

Shine bright and don’t be afraid of colors!
